Being a part of the beauty team and creating The Big Fake Wedding makeup look this past summer was amazing. This was such a fun and unique "styled shoot"! The Big Fake Wedding is exactly what it says it is... it's a big production done for the vendors, honoring the "bride and groom's" marriage by vow renewal. So, in reality a wedding is actually happening just basically the second time around for the couple!
I had heard about this event through social media and really wanted to be a part of it! So, I applied and was chosen to be the official makeup artist for the production.
The inspiration behind all of this was a greenhouse gathering. There were lots of florals and greenery, and earthy, colors with pops of natural, floral hues. I took my makeup inspiration from that and went with natural tones on the eyes and incorporated some contouring, while keeping the base "skin-like" and always holding close to an earthy feel.
The day started off with some strange weather! It was very hot with passing showers and some interesting clouds in the sky. This was definitely a challenge for makeup, and for the florists and their beautiful arrangements! Sweat and makeup don't mix, as well as humidity and fresh cut flowers. But, all in all the rain dissipated for the outdoor portion of the event and it all went off without a hitch!
